Riverkeeper is leading a letter writing campaign asking NYC elected officials, including City Council Members, Borough Presidents, and State Assembly and Senate Members, to call for the immediate closure and orderly decommissioning of Indian Point, as well as the securing of highly toxic spent fuel.

You may download the template letters (to the left) or write your own letters, asking elected officials to:

1—Call for the immediate shutdown and decommissioning of the Indian Point nuclear plants

2—Demand that Indian Point’s owner, Entergy, secure the vulnerable “spent” fuel storage with Hardened Onsite Storage NOT the Holtec casks, currently proposed by Entergy

3—Oppose the relicensing of Indian Point 2 (2013) and Indian Point 3 (2015)
