Jeff Scales dedicated his financial advisory career over three decades to sustainable and responsible investment. He has been a pioneer and relentless advocate for ESG investing and made the mission of his prior firm, JSA Sustainable Wealth Management, to serve client investment needs with ESG principals at the core. JSA was a business rigorously committed to providing tangible benefits to the community and the environment, as recognized through its B Corp designation.

He serves as the Chair of Riverkeeper Advisory Board, and advisor to Bard College Programs in Sustainability. Jeff is active in local and global community organizations, including as chairperson of Rhinebeck Rotary Club’s International Committee, which includes service trips annually with high school students of its Interact Club to construct classrooms, playgrounds and improvements in rural areas throughout Central America. Scales is a member of the Town of Clermont Climate Smart Taskforce, and stewards one hundred forty acres of precious woods & watershed in the Hudson Valley.

Jeff’s professional education includes undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of New Mexico. He earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation. Jeff has lived in the Hudson River Valley since 1987, where he may be seen kayaking at dawn or sunset on the Hudson, often removing trash and non-native invasive plants from the river and admiring bald eagles overhead or great blue herons on the shore.
