Having spent his whole life in close proximity to water; whether that be Lake Michigan in Illinois, Lake Champlain in Vermont, or the Hudson in New York, he has developed a deep and personal connection to water along with an understanding of the importance that these ecosystems offer to all living things. This personal connection, paired with an Environmental Studies degree from the University of Vermont and work experience at the Garden Conservancy, Westchester County Parks, and CarShare Vermont, reaffirmed his commitment to nonprofit work and environmentally-based community building.
