As Chief Financial and Operating Officer, Robin Meadows manages the day-to-day operations of Riverkeeper, including finance, human resources, information systems/technology, operations and facilities. Additionally, she and her team create and foster organizational relationships and share knowledge with key stakeholders at external retreats, ensure legal compliance and help minimize organizational risk, and help define organizational priorities and communicate across teams by achieving successful strategic planning.
Robin started her professional career in communications, marketing, and human resources with a position at an Irish company, Taxback International. While working at Taxback, Robin lived in both Varna, Bulgaria and Chicago, Illinois and had the pleasure of managing marketing campaigns (and traveling) across Europe. The aspects of her role she enjoyed most; however, were recruitment and staff development. She relocated to New York in 2005 and joined the human resources team at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), working with refugees around the world. In her role as Director of Human Resources, Robin managed the HR function for 300 NY based staff, and over 20 offices around the United States.
Prior to joining Riverkeeper in October 2016, Robin was Associate Dean of Finance and Administration at the School of Professional Studies at Columbia University, managing a team of 20+ and budget of over $100M. While working at Columbia University, Robin transitioned from managing Human Resources for the School, to also overseeing finance, event planning, operations, facilities and IT. Robin holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BBA in International Business from the University of Texas at Austin.
Robin is a proud native Texan who loves the beauty of New York and the Hudson Valley. She has lived in Ossining, NY with her husband and son since 2011. They have two dogs and love to get out and hike or kayak on the Hudson River whenever they can.
