The River is quiet except for duck hunters and commercial traffic. A hunting camp on Middle Ground Flats. It’s sad to hear all the shot gun blasts echoing at dawn. We don’t think we really have so many waterfowl that we should shoot them for fun. We don’t get it.
"Beautiful cold misty day, northbound. The section between the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge and the Castleton Bridges is wilder, and beautiful.
Capt. Lipscomb gets "Up close and personal" with a passing light bulk carrier while patrolling northbound on the upper Hudson.
