Riverkeeper received several communications Wednesday evening reporting oil sheen and smell of oil in the Saw Mill River at Yonkers, and reported the information to the state Department of Environmental Conservation. Groundwork Yonkers said that its "Green Team" was watering a patio garden along Walsh Road around 3:30 to 4 p.m. when "they noticed an oil slick because they were trying to use river water to water the plants....
