
Calling for stronger environmental protections for new energy projects

While Riverkeeper supports the shift to clean energy to meet New York’s climate goals, we’re concerned that the current draft regulations could harm the environment, override existing environmental protections, limit state agency input, and reduce opportunities for public involvement.
Riverkeeper recently urged the state to revise the draft regulations to better protect the Hudson River watershed and ensure that renewable energy development is both effective and environmentally responsible.
