The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission will hold a webinar on Monday, December 16 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to consider changes to striped bass management.
The Commission will also hold a virtual informational meeting on Thursday, December 5 at 6:00 pm. Register for that meeting here.
The ASMFC’s most recent assessment found that striper mortality was slightly higher than the target for recovery, while spawning stock was well below the recovery goal. Striped bass are an iconic migratory species in the Hudson River Estuary — a vital piece of the river’s food web as well as one of the most sought after fishes for anglers on the Atlantic Coast.
