Sarah Street is a global finance and investment management executive valued for her expertise in strategic innovation and her ability to implement initiatives that bring about change. She started her career with JP Morgan Chase, moving through roles of increasing responsibility in risk management. She moved to XL Group, an S&P 500 global insurance company, in 2001 and in 2007 was promoted to the Chief Investment Officer role, managing a $45 billion investment portfolio. She retired in 2018 as the EVP for Strategy and Innovation Initiatives, a role where she helped drive both strategy development and implementation as well as innovation.
Today Sarah is applying her expertise by helping a number of mission-based organizations. In addition to her Riverkeeper directorship, Sarah sits on the board of Polar Bears International, the polar bear conservation group. Sarah also coaches for Girls on the Run, a program helping girls to live joyous and confident lives.
Sarah characterizes herself as an active, nature-loving, adventure-seeking world traveler and fitness enthusiast who is energized by new challenges and experiences—whether summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, sailing 9,500 miles across open waters in a yacht race, or diving with whale sharks in Galapagos. She is also an avid photographer and particularly enjoys capturing wildlife in their natural habitats.
Sarah is from the UK and graduated from Oxford University with an MA in Geography.
