Give appreciated stock
Thank you for your interest in giving a gift of stock to Riverkeeper. Donating stock helps you save significantly on taxes, making a big difference for Riverkeeper’s mission at a lower cost for you. Riverkeeper accepts gifts of appreciated stock, which are sold upon receipt to support our work and programs.
All gifts of stock and marketable securities made to Riverkeeper should be sent to the following location:

It is extremely important that donors take the following steps to make sure incoming stock transfers are properly attributed to them:
- Donors should request their brokers include their name in the reference field of the stock transfer sent to US Bank.
- Donors or their brokers should inform Riverkeeper of the impending gift, including the type of securities and the number of shares being transferred.
Donate from your IRA
Are you 70.5 years or older? If you have a traditional IRA, you can donate to Riverkeeper directly from your account, tax-free by making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Giving through your IRA can satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) without counting towards your taxable income.
Please contact your IRA administrator to initiate this gift.
Contribute through your Donor Advised Fund
If you have a Donor-Advised Fund, please consider recommending a grant to Riverkeeper to immediately impact our work for the Hudson River. When you put money into your DAF you receive an immediate tax deduction, and you can give that money to one or more charities now or years in the future.
